Anthony in First, Bulldogs in Fifth at Saint Mary's Invitational

FRESNO, Calif. - Jason Anthony shot rounds of 70-73 - 143 on the opening day of the Saint Mary's Invitational in Pebble Beach to enter Tuesday's final round in first place. Fresno State (292-311 - 603), which had the lead after the first round, is tied for fifth in the 19-team field.
Anthony holds a two-stroke lead over Weber State's Barry Schenk (145).
Ryan McDonald (75-72), playing as an individual whose score does not count towards the team score, is tied for third with 147. Jonny Rosa (75-78) and Brian Kelley (73-80) are tied for 34th with 153 totals. Matt Shaw (T46th) registered rounds of 74-81 - 155, and Mark Modglin (T54th) shot rounds of 76-80 - 156.
Xavier (593) holds the team lead, Lamar is in second with 594, Boise State's 601 is good for third, and Texas-Arlington is in fourth with 602.
Play continues Tuesday at the Poppy Hills Golf Course with 7:30 a.m. tee times.
