| Junior guard Kevin Bell has been selected as the Toyota/gobulldogs.com athlete of the week for the week of Jan. 9. It is the first honor of the the season for Bell. Bell, a point guard from Fairfax High School in Los Angeles, led the Bulldogs to a 2-0 record last week, averaging 14.5 points and six assists per game. Bell recorded 12 assists to only two turnovers, averaging 34 minutes a game. Against Idaho to start the week off, Bell scored a team-high 14 points and added five assists. Against Utah State, Bell matched a career high with 15 points, including two 3-pointers and seven assists in 38 minutes. With the award, Bell becomes the third Men's Baksetball player to be named the Fresno State athlete of the week, joining Quinton Hosley and Dominic McGuire as 2006-07 honorees. Also nominated this week was Tierre Wilson, (Women's Basketball).
