Fresno, Calif. - The Fresno State men's basketball game versus Hawaii will be airing at 9 p.m. on KFRE CW59, Thursday, January 11, but due to technical difficulties, the game will feature a Hawaii broadcast team from the local My Network TV station KFVE.
"Anytime you have a major technical problem that effects the production of a telecast it is disappointing," Associate Athletics Director Paul Ladwig said. "We are pleased that our partnership with CW59 is strong and we were able to work a solution so Bulldog fans will be able to view the game, even though it will look much different than the traditional BSN broadcast you are accustomed to seeing."
With the loss of a true Bulldog Sports Network television game at Hawaii, BSN can now broadcast an additional road WAC game, which will be February 3, when Fresno State plays at Idaho at 7 p.m. That gives Fresno State fans a chance to watch seven out of the Bulldogs' eight road games.
"As always, we would prefer to have our announcers and production team producing the game in Hawaii," Senior Vice President and General Manager of KFRE CW59/KMPH FOX 26 Charlie Pfaff said. "Since this was not possible this time, we are very pleased to be able to bring an additional Bulldog broadcast to the viewers in the valley. Being able to add this game is a real bonus for the Bulldog basketball program and our station."
The Thursday, January 11, Fresno State game at Hawaii will still be aired live at 9 p.m. on KMJ 580, with Bill Woodward calling the action.
