Bulldogs Tie Boise State

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State women's soccer team led Boise State for the first 80 minutes of Friday's WAC game but after Boise State scored a goal in the 80th minute the match ended in a 1-1 tie after two 10 minute overtime periods.
"We played hard," Fresno State coach Steve Springthorpe said. "It was a pretty even game for the most part. We settled in defensively after we got our goal."
The tie gives Fresno State an 8-6-1 record and a 3-1-1 WAC mark. Boise State sits at 7-5-3 overall and 3-0-1 in conference play.
Fresno State out shot Boise State 11-9 for the game. Nicole Gutierrez fired seven of the shots and had two on goal.
It was Gutierrez who scored the Bulldogs goal in the 35th minute when she took a pass from Ali Sill and fired it from 16 yards out.
Boise State tallied its goal in the 80th minute.
The Bulldogs return to the field on Sunday at 11 a.m. for another road game at the University of Idaho.
