Doverspike Leads Bulldogs at Pacific Invitational

FRESNO, Calif. - The Bulldogs are led by sophomore Grant Doverspike after one round in Stockton, Calif. for the Stockton Sports Commission Pacific Invitational. The Bulldogs finished in seventh place on Monday with a round of 280/-8. Doverspike led the `Dogs with a bogey free round of 68 to tie for seventh place.
"We played a pretty solid round today," said coach Mike Watney. "It wasn't a great day, other than Grant, but I think everyone can improve tomorrow which would put us in the hunt."
None of the Bulldogs shot over par today at the Brookside Country Club. Matt Ryan tied for 22nd with 2-under par 70. Michael Gideon and Brad Wyatt shot a 71 to tie for 32nd place and Todd Angel shot even par 72, to tie for 44th place.
Kansas State (273) is the current leader with 15-under followed by Marquette (275). The No. 1 team in the nation, Charlotte is currently tied with UC Davis for third place with 10-under par 278.
Nick Delio of CSU Northridge and Stefan Wiedergruen of Charlotte are tied for first with a round of 66.
