Bulldogs Battle No. 18 Arizona State

Tempe, AZ - The Fresno State women's basketball team fell 79-49 to No. 18 Arizona State on Monday at Wells Fargo Arena. The loss dropped the Bulldogs to 2-8 while Arizona State improved to 6-4.
Bailey Amundsen led the Bulldogs in scoring with 13 points while Tierre Wilson added 12. Erica Henry and Hayley Munro led the team in rebounding with six apiece.
Arizona State shot 53 percent for the game and out rebounded the Dogs 37-29.
Fresno State fell behind 20-2 with 12:53 to play in the first half. The Bulldogs then went on a run of their own to cut the Sun Devil deficit to 29-18 with 6:42 to play until the break. Trailing, 42-25 with 3:30 remaining in the half, the Bulldogs scored the final six points to go into the break trailing 42-31.
Amundsen hit two free throws, Arnold converted on a lay up and Henry connected on a three-point play during the mini-run.
Fresno State got within nine two different times in the first two minutes of the second half after baskets by Wilson and Munro.
Arizona State then pulled away and led by 23 at 63-40 with eight minutes to play in the game. Arizona State led by as many as 31 points in the second half.
Fresno State returns to the floor on Friday when they host Sacramento State at the Save Mart Center. Tip off is set for 7 p.m. and all fans can get into the game for $2.
