| Senior Nichole Willis has been named the Toyota/gobulldogs.com Athlete of the Week for the week of Feb. 12. It is the first honor for a member of the softball team this year. Willis (Clovis, Calif.) led the Bulldogs offensively last weekend at the Kajikawa Classic in Tempe, Ariz. The Bulldogs went 3-2 in large part because of Willis¹ offensive prowess. She hit a team-best .533 over five games with a double, a solo home run and two RBI. She had two multi-hit games including a 3-for-3 performance in Fresno State¹s 3-1 win over Northwestern State. Willis gave the Bulldogs a 2-1 lead with a solo homer against No. 4 Northwestern in a game the ?Dogs eventually lost 4-3 in eight innings. Her had a slugging percentage of .800 to go along with three walks and a sacrifice bunt. Defensively, Willis caught all five games and threw two of six runners out attempting to steal. Also nominated this week were: Quinton Hosely (Men's Basketball), Tierre Wilson (Women's Basketball), Melanie Gloria (Women's Tennis), Jakub Cech (Men's Tennis) and Loren Storey (Baseball).
