Men's Basketball Looks Ahead to Selection Sunday

Fresno, Calif. - After finishing the season with 22 wins, the most since the 1995-96 season, the Fresno State men's basketball team turns it attention to Selection Sunday. The Bulldogs ended with a 22-9 mark and a third place finish in the Western Athletic Conference.
Selection Sunday, March 11, will feature the NCAA Selection Special for the NCAA Tournament beginning at 3 p.m. (PST) on CBS.
Following the field of 65, the NIT will select 32 teams to participate in the 70th MasterCard NIT. The show can be seen live on ESPN2 and ESPNU at 6 p.m. (PST).
Fresno State finished the regular season strong, having won seven out of its last nine games, including a six-game winning streak during that time. The Bulldogs have also won four straight road games.
Against Boise State in the quarterfinals of the WAC Tournament Dominic McGuire recorded his 15th double-double of the year with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Kevin Bell also picked up the scoring slack with his second straight game with at least 20 points.
Quinton Hosley, who was ejected near the start of the second half against Boise State, will not be penalized further for his actions, according to the WAC office.
Fresno State is looking to return to the postseason for the first time since the 2001-02 season.
