Bulldogs Fall to Nevada, 2-0

RENO, Nev. - In the second contest of the three-game series Fresno State (19-18, 5-3) lost in a pitchers dual by a score of 2-0 to Nevada (20-16, 4-4) Friday night at Peccole Park. The Bulldogs had two hits on the night while Nevada had three. Both teams stranded five base runners.
In his 11th start on the season Justin Wilson (4-4, 3.14) threw seven innings only allowing two runs on three hits while also striking out seven batters. His seven innings is a season-high on the year and his seven strikeouts tied a season-high. Jacob Hower relieved Wilson throwing one inning striking out one batter. Nevada's starting pitcher Rod Scurry (1-5) threw seven innings tallying two walks and eight strikeouts.
Nevada jumped on the scoreboard first in the bottom of the third inning when the run was walked in at 1-0. The Wolf Pack's last run came in on a home run in the bottom of the fifth inning from second baseman David Ciarlo.
Fresno State struggled to find a rhythm gathering two hits by Brian Lapin and Erik Wetzel. Lapin had a double and Wetzel had a single.
The last game of the series will continue tomorrow scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start at Peccole Park.
