FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State swimming and diving team (0-2) will return to the pool Saturday on the campus of San Diego State, facing the Aztecs (2-2) beginning at 12 p.m. at the Aztec Aquaplex.
"I am excited because we keep getting faster every meet," said head coach Jeanne Fleck. "I am also looking forward to seeing the divers dive again. This will be a tough weekend as the Aztecs are very good but our goals for the meet are to keep improving in all events and see us swim different events."
This weekend's meet will be the third home event for the Aztecs, after hosting a dual meet against Utah in the season opener and a Mountain West Conference quad meet last weekend. This is the first meeting of the Bulldogs and San Diego State since 2003, when Fresno State hosted the Aztecs at home, and is the first and only meeting between the Aztecs and Bulldogs this season.
San Diego State fell to Utah in their season opener and earned two victories against Air Force and New Mexico is last weekend's meet, falling to Colorado State, while Fresno State improved with some lifetime bests at the Washington State Invitational, including freshman Heidi Gjoen's (Oslo, Norway,) third place in the 100 backstroke event.
