Behme Keynote Speaker at Coaches Convention

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State women's lacrosse coach Sue Behme loves teaching and coaching the game of lacrosse. Last weekend she shared her knowledge with women's lacrosse coaches at the Utah Lacrosse Association Convention in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The coaches in attendance were high school and club coaches of all ages from across the west coast. Behme was the keynote speaker at the convention that was sponsored by US Lacrosse.
On Saturday, she taught a class for coaches on, "How do we Mentor Female Student-Athletes on and off the Lacrosse Field?" During the class the Bulldog women's lacrosse coach talked about the impact coaches have on female student-athletes and the type of dedication that is needed to play collegiate lacrosse.
Behme also talked about the pro's and con's of being a student-athlete at the collegiate level and what college coaches look for during the lacrosse recruiting process.
Behme also spent time talking on field strategy as she taught about attacking, transition, defensive and goal keeping X's and O's for girls' lacrosse. She also did an on field training session on team defense.
On Sunday, Behme, ran a clinic at Westminster College for 50 Utah girls' lacrosse players from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
"It was a great success," Behme said. "Utah is a lot like California. Girls lacrosse is growing on the youth level, high school level and club level."
Behme is also a member of the Circle of Go for Red American Heart Association fight against heart disease for women. She participates as a spokesperson at certain times with the association.
