MPSF announces All-Academic team

WOODLAND, Calif. - The Mountain Pacific Sports Federation announced on Monday its 2021 All-Academic selections, and the Fresno State lacrosse team saw 12 honorees on this season's list. The 12 Bulldogs selected ties for the second-most in program history and 2021 is the fourth consecutive year that Fresno State has had 12 or more selections.
The student-athletes were nominated for this award by their institutions on the basis of the following criteria - student-athlete must carry a 3.00 or better cumulative grade point average, student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically, and the student-athlete must have completed one full academic year at the institution prior to the season for which the award is received. There was no participation requirement for this season's nominations.
Senior goalkeeper Courtney Walburger had the third-highest GPA in the conference, making the all-academic team with a 3.83 grade point average in liberal studies. Walburger earns academic honors from the conference for the first time in her career.
Fellow seniors Lauren Gonzales, Lauren Kiszely, Hannah Krats and Abbigayle Roberts also earned academic honors from the MPSF this season. Kiszely and Krats earned their third-career honor while Gonzales and Roberts earned their second.
Sydney Skalstad picked up a spot on the all-academic team for the second time in her career, and Taylor Anders, Hennessey Evans, Alyssa Guidi, Katie Rice, Sarah Watts and Kristen Zenor earned their first career honor.
