LOGAN, Utah - The Bulldogs head to Utah State (20-9, 9-4 WAC) for their final WAC road trip of the year Monday night. Fresno State is coming off a 69-64 loss Saturday night to New Mexico State.
The game will be televised on the Bulldog Sports Network with Ralph Wood and Bob Donewald calling the action from the Utah State campus. It will be the 30th game of the year for the Dogs.
The Dogs left the North Gym at 4:30 a.m. PT on Sunday morning and arrived in Logan, Utah at 3:45 p.m. MT. After a hotel check-in the team held a short but spirited workout at the Spectrum Sunday night. In addition to the regular game preparation activities, the team divided into four groups and held a three-point shooting contest at the end of practice. The Dogs will have a walk-thru on Monday morning as they begin final preparation for the game.
The Utah weather was sunny and warm for a Rocky Mountain day, with highs in the mid-30s. Several inches of snow blanket the Cache Valley and the Utah State campus.
In addition to the game on television, other game coverage includes live radio in the Valley on KMJ 580 AM and in Spanish on ESPN Deportes 1600 AM.
Scouting Utah State
Just two weeks ago it looked like the Aggies were going to run away with the WAC regular season title after getting off to an 8-1 start. But three straight losses followed, and the Aggies find themselves in fourth place in the standings this week. Jaycee Carroll continues to lead the WAC in scoring at better than 21 points per game. Tai Wesley is coming off a 24-point and 9-rebound performance in a win over UC Santa Barbara.
Against USU
The Aggies are 22-19 against the Bulldog all-time in a series that started in 1964. The Dogs are 4-17 in games played in Logan, Utah. Fresno State won last year's game at the Smith Spectrum.
Miller Leads the WAC
Senior guard Eddie Miller continues to lead the Western Athletic Conference in three point goals made per game (3.6). Miller has 105 treys this season. He has 11 more three point field goals that Utah State's Jaycee Carroll. Miller has climbed to 9th in the WAC in scoring, 15.1 points per game. In WAC games, he is averaging 16.5 points, good for seventh-best in the league.
