FRESNO, Calif.- - Fresno State men's basketball coach Steve Cleveland has announced the signing of Brian Seals to an Athletic Aid Agreement for the upcoming 2008-09 season. Seals is a 6-7 210 pound small forward who played his two previous seasons at Cosumnes River College in Sacramento, Calif.
"Brian is a high energy player who is an athletic defender and rebounder," Cleveland said. "I am really excited to have Brian in the program. He was under the recruiting radar because of his injury but his work ethic, attitude and competitive nature will be a major asset to our team."
Last year he averaged 10 points and 10 rebounds a game in 12 games before suffering a season ending ankle injury. As a freshman in 2006-07 he scored seven points and averaged 10 rebounds a game.
"His athleticism, work ethic and competitive nature reminds me of Quinton Hosley," Cleveland said. "Brian is an outstanding student and a high character young man that will be an immediate leader in this program."
Seals graduated from Valley High School in Sacramento in 2005.
