`Dogs Host Fresno Pacific Wednesday

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State and cross-town rival Fresno Pacific will play the annual exhibition match Wednesday, Sept. 3 at 7 p.m. at the Save Mart Center. This will be the first time the two have ever met in the arena and it will be the fourth home match of the year for the Bulldogs.
Fresno State is 1-2 on the season after hosting the Fresno State Invitational last weekend. The `Dogs defeated Cal State Bakersfield 3-2 before falling to UC Davis and St. Mary's. Freshman Brianna Clarke leads the team 39 kills.
The Sunbirds are the defending NAIA National Champions and are 7-0 on the season and have not dropped a set in any of their matches.
Not only is the matchup between two teams in the same town, but former teammates. Bulldog setter Allanah Munson played two seasons at Fresno Pacific before transferring to Fresno State two years ago. Munson had to sit out the 2007 season due to transferring so she was on the bench for last year's mach. This year, Munson will get to play vs. her former team.
The match can be heard live on 790 ESPN Radio the Deuce with Paul Swearengin calling the action. The game can also be viewed on Comcast Local 14 with Randy Rosenbloom and Brian Tsukimura calling the game.
