Munson Leads 'Dogs with 23 Assists

FRESNO, Calif. - In its WAC home opener, Fresno State (5-8, 2-2 WAC) fell 3-0 to San Jose State (6-8, 2-2 WAC) by set scores of 25-19, 25-15 and 25-22 at the Save Mart Center Saturday night.
The Spartans got off to quick start in set one with an 8-0 lead. Fresno State caught up to get within two at 20-18 but SJSU scored three-straight points and went on for the set one victory.
"We showed ability in set one to come back from an 8-0 deficit which is really hard in a 25 point set," said head coach Lauren Netherby-Sewell.
Fresno State took its first lead in the match at 1-0 in set two but San Jose State came back to take set two 25-15.
Set three saw the `Dogs hit a match-high .205 as they tied the match late at 20 with a kill by Baylee Platt. SJSU would go on a 5-2 run to win the set and the match.
Meghan Moss led the `Dogs with 11 digs and Allanah Munson had 23 assists to lead the team. Fresno State did outblock SJSU 8.0 to 5.0
