After our 6:30 am weight session yesterday, I stayed after and talked with a couple of team mates about this past weekend's scrimmages at Cal. As I sat back and listened to them talk, I was overcome with a feeling of pride.
Watching them act out different game situations that took place against Cal on Sunday, made me realize that practice was never going to be the same. I knew right away, that our level of intensity and passion for the sport shot through the roof and no one was going to be ready for what we are ready to bring to the field.
On Saturday, February 7th, 2009, my teammates and I will be taking over Bulldog stadium for the first time ever in Fresno State history, to play against Cal Berkley at 1 p.m.
Do you realize what this means? This means that in less than three days, I will be sitting side by side with my teammates, in our locker room, preparing mentally for what truly will be the most satisfying day of my life thus far.
In less than three days, I will be underneath the doghouse with my teammates, rocking the house, cheering louder than the music playing, and anxiously awaiting the moment we get to explode out of the front, sending chills down the spines of everyone in the stadium that has come out to be apart of history.
In less than three days, I will be standing side by side, as our nation's anthem plays prior to the start of the game, with not only my teammates and coaches, but next to the women who I have learned, sweated, laughed and cried with for the past six months.
In less than three days, I will be making history with amazing women who have now become family.
I truly can not explain the foundation of our team in any other way than if you were to ask me to show you three amazing individual's with the drive and passion to achieve the impossible, followed closely by 24 women willing to sacrifice whatever is necessary to turn the impossible into a reality.
I don't think my teammates and coaches honestly understand how much each and every single one of them inspires me to become both a better player on the field, as well as off. I am honored to play for coach Behme as well as coach Buck and coach Gotham, but words can not express how excited I am to charge the field for the first time with my fellow team mates.
IT'S GAMETIME BABY! WE ARE READY!
