Bulldogs and Huskies Battle in Long 11-inning Contest

FULLERTON, Calif. - It was another pitchers duel at the Judi Garman Classic involving Bulldog Morgan Melloh and this time Washington's Danielle Lawrie. In the second international tiebreaker game of the tournament the No. 21 `Dogs fell 3-0 in 11 innings to No. 2 Washington.
The game time was two hours and 39 minutes, the longest of the season for the `Dogs.
It was the fifth ITB game of the season for the `Dogs. Fresno State falls to 14-11 while Melloh is now 10-8.
The `Dogs had two hits off of Lawrie, one each by Nicole Angene and Lisamarie Coronado. Melloh allowed five hits, is credited with two earned runs and struck out 13 Husky batters.
Marnie Koziol in the top of the 11th of UW reach third on sacrifice bunt and scored on double to left center by Ashley Charters. A bases loaded single by Alicia Blake drove in two more for a 3-0 lead.
The `Dogs take on nationally-ranked DePaul at 10 a.m. on Sunday at Mt. SAC. Please note the time and location change for Sunday's game.
"Join the State - Fresno State!" - The `Dogs' travel south to the Judi Garman Classic hosted by Cal State Fullerton March 12-15. The `Dogs return home to battle WAC rival San Jose State March 20-21.
