Fresno State Scores Eight Goals Against Presbyterian

FRESNO, Calif.- - The Fresno State women's lacrosse team scored the first two goals of the game in Sunday morning's contest against Presbyterian College but it still wasn't enough as the Bulldogs fell 18-8.
The eight goals is the most goals Fresno State has scored in a season and Heather Jack led the way with five goals. Fresno State attempted a season-high 23 shots.
"We are definitely making great strides," Fresno State coach Sue Behme said. "We will continue on working on capitalizing on turnovers."
Fresno State won the draw controls, 15-13 and had 26 ground balls to 21 for Presbyterian. Presbyterian also had more turnovers with 25 with 15 being caused by the Bulldogs.
Jack scored her first two goals in the first three minutes of the game to give Fresno State a 2-0 lead. It was also the first time the Bulldogs have held a lead in a game this season. Presbyterian then scored the next three goals to lead 3-2 nine minutes into the game.
Jack then tallied her third goal of the game less than a minute later after the Blue Hose scored their third goal. Christina Cabias later tied the game at four with 13:33 to play until halftime. Presbyterian then scored the next two goals before Jack found the back of the net for her fourth goal of the game to bring Fresno State within a goal at 6-5 with three minutes left until halftime. Presbyterian add another goal before the break to lead 7-5 at halftime.
In the first six minutes of the second half Presbyterian scored five goals and pulled away to a 12-5 lead. Jack then scored her fifth goal of the game to make the score 12-6. The Blue Hose then added five more goals to lead 17-6 before Chelsea Davis scored two goals in the final 10 minutes of the game.
"Join the State - Fresno State"- The Bulldogs return to the field on Saturday, April 4 at 1 p.m. when they play host to Saint Mary's at Bulldog Stadium. The weekend is Family Fun Weekend as fans can use their lacrosse ticket to get into the baseball or softball doubleheader after the lacrosse game.
