`Dogs Shutout Vandals

FRESNO, Calif. - No. 15 Fresno State swept its sixth WAC opponent of the year, with a 7-0 shutout of Idaho on Friday in Las Cruces, N.M.
No. 29 Anastasia Petukhova assumed her normal role of tone setter, by finishing first in singles with a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Daniela Cohen.
The rest of the Bulldogs followed suit.
Danon Beatty knocked off Natalie Kirch, 6-1, 6-2. Shortly after, No. 69 Renata Kucerkova clinched the match for the Bulldogs with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Basia Maciocha.
Laura Pola and No. 17 Melanie Gloria also took care of business and brought home wins for the Bulldogs.
Senior Tinesta Rowe capped off the shutout with a three-set, 3-6, 6-3, (10-6) win over Alexandra Ulesanu.
"We had some quick matches, which is good to keep us fresh for our last match of the season tomorrow against Boise State," head coach Simon Thibodeau said.
The win gives Fresno State an 18-5 overall record and 7-0 in WAC play.
The Bulldogs will play their final regular season match tomorrow at 9 a.m. against Boise State. The WAC Tournament will run April 23-25 in Honolulu, Hawai'i.
