Volleyball Camps Set for July

FRESNO, Calif. - The NEW Fresno State summer volleyball camps are less than two months away! Head coach Lauren Netherby-Sewell and several current student-athletes will run three camps at the end of July.
The first camp will run July 20-22 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and 2-5 p.m. This camp is a Girls All-Skills Camp for students entering grades 8-12. Players will be trained on all major skills for efficiency, control and power. This camp will include technique and movement training within the context of drills and in a competitive environment. The cost is $200 per person.
The second camp, the Junior Bulldog Camp, will run July 23-24. Boys and girls are invited to the skill-based camp that will teach basic movement and contact skills while touching on strategy. This camp is for kids in the first through eighth grades and is $100 per person.
The Boys and Girls Setting and Attacking Clinic will also run July 23-24 but from 2-5 p.m. This fast-paced clinic is for student-athletes in grades 8-12 and is also $100 per person. The afternoon clinic will specialize on two major components of the game.
For families with two or more campers attending two or more camps there will be a $10.00 per-person discount.
All camps will be held in the North Gym on the Fresno State campus off of Cedar and Barstow Avenues.
Netherby-Sewell, the Camp Director, is entering her second year as head coach of the Fresno State Bulldogs where she coached Baylee Platt and Brianna Clarke to the WAC All-Freshmen team in 2008. Prior to joining the staff at Fresno State, Netherby-Sewell spent two very successful years at Hofstra University in New York where she guided numerous student-athletes to honors such as Conference Player of the Year, All-American, All-Region and All-Conference.
Bulldog assistant coaches Ed Jackson and Alanna Jackson are entering their second years with the program as well. Prior to Fresno State, Alanna worked as an assistant for one year at her Alma Mater, Nevada. The two also spent time at William and Mary in Virginia and helped lead the Tribe to the top of the Colonial Athletic Association.
