Five `Dogs Earn Academic All-WAC Honors

FRESNO, Calif. - The Western Athletic Conference announced the 2009-10 Fall Academic All-WAC Teams for the five falls sports. In all, 44 Bulldogs were honored from men's and women's cross country, football, soccer and volleyball.
Six Bulldog volleyball student-athletes earned the honor this year. Seniors Lisa Gera, Allanah Munson and Kelly Leonardo and juniors Kelly Mason, Meghan Moss and Kasey Van Grouw all earned the honor for the second year in a row under head coach Lauren Netherby-Sewell.
A total of 312 student-athletes from the WAC were named to the list for the fall and 47 from the sport of volleyball. All nine schools in the conference support volleyball and each institution had at least four student-athletes earn the honor.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must have completed at least one academic year, have at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average and have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's contests.
