Lacrosse Begins Practice

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State lacrosse team officially kicked off year two on Thursday afternoon with the team's first official practice in preparation for the upcoming 2010 season. The Bulldogs practiced from 3-6 p.m. on Thursday and play its first home exhibition game on February 6 against the Fresno men's club team at 1 p.m.
"It is great to be back with the team and on the field," Fresno State coach Sue Behme. "We are excited to jump right into training to prepare for our first set of scrimmages at Cal next weekend."
Fresno State also will host an alumni game on Feb. 20 at 1 p.m. before beginning regular season play at La Salle on Feb. 26. Fresno State's first home game is March 11 against Detroit in Bulldog Stadium at 4 p.m. The Bulldogs host six regular season games this year and play the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation tournament at the University of Denver.
The Dogs return 10 players from last year's inaugural team including the team's leading goal scorer Heather Jack who scored 11 goals. Coach Behme also welcomes a group of 14 newcomers to this year's team.
