- With its 78-64 victory over Hawai'i, the Fresno State Bulldogs improved to 2-0 in Western Athletic Conference play for the first time since 2006-07, when Cleveland guided the Bulldogs to a 22-10 record and NIT appearance, and 9-7 through the first half of the season. The Bulldogs have won five consecutive home games and six of its past seven in the Save Mart Center.
- Sophomore guard/forward Paul George finished with 21 points, his fifth 20-plus point performance of the season, and nine rebounds, six assists, four steals, and three 3-pointers on seven of 12 shooting from the field --- all game-highs. He also went a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line.
- Senior forward Sylvester Seay added 17 points, his 12th consecutive game with 11 or more points, and six rebounds. His game-high five offensive rebounds were a season-high by a Bulldog. With the 17 points on the evening, Seay is now 13 points away from becoming one of the top 50 scorers in Fresno State history.
- Sophomore point guard Steven Shepp showed his vision and flash in an up-tempo game, where he directed the Bulldogs to a season-best 47 points in a half and an 18-point halftime lead. Shepp, who leads the WAC in assists (77) and assists/per game (4.8).
- Fresno State outrebounded Hawai'i 34-33. The Bulldogs dominated the offensive glass against the Warriors, who entered the game as the WAC's leader in offensive rebounds, with a 14-6 pounding of the Bows in offensive boards.
- In the first half, the Bulldogs dictated the pace with aggressive defensive pressure and disrupted the Warriors' passing lanes. The Dogs forced nine steals and outscored the Bows 24-0 in transition and 10-0 in fast break situations.
