Fresno State interim head coaches Carlee Buck and Lindsay Gotham announced the signing of two players Wednesday, as both Marcy Levatino (Laguna Hills, Calif.) and Holly Cisneros (Oregon City, Ore.) signed letters of intent.
"They are hard working, positive, enthusiastic and have the ability to be a threat on both ends of the field," Buck said. "We expect they will have an immediate impact on the field for us and are both going to be instrumental in helping take our program to the next level."
A three-year letter winner at Laguna Hills High School, Levatino accumulated 88 goals, 29 assists and 70 ground balls last season. She was named team MVP and earned a place on the All-Pacific Coast League first team. Levatino was also named a 2010 U.S. Lacrosse Academic All-American and received U.S. Lacrosse honorable mention honors.
"Marcy is an outstanding attacking midfielder with great vision and the ability to finish," Buck said.
Cisneros is a three-time all-league honoree for the Three Rivers League. As a junior, she amassed 44 goals and 29 assists en route to being named first-team all-state. She led Oregon City to its second straight state championship last spring and was also honored by the U.S. Lacrosse Association as an honorable mention All-American.
"It just felt right," Cisneros said of choosing Fresno State. "I really liked the coach, I really liked the team and it just felt like the best place for me overall."
Added Buck, "Holly is a very dangerous defensive-midfielder that also has the ability to put the ball in the back of the net. She is a huge threat on draw controls and makes very smart decisions with the ball."
