"Lauren's second ride today was beautiful. I was very happy with her," said English coach Julia Scrivani. "Nicole has consistently done a great job for us on the flat. She continues to show her success in the arena and she will definitely be one to watch in the spring."
Junior captain Kimberly Hewson Budnik continued to showoff her equitation skills in the arena and earned another win in the Equitation Over Fences competition.
"Kimmy rode wonderful again today. She continues to be a strong competitor in the arena for us and I am very happy with how well she is doing," said Scrivani.
The Western Horsemanship stayed strong for the second day of competition at the New Mexico State Equestrian Facility. All of the Bulldog Horsemanship riders had positive rides and earned scores above 70. Junior Sammi Jo Stone and sophomore Christa Beezley won their points with matching scores of 72.5.

The Bulldogs will head back to the Valley tomorrow and then take a short break before they jump back into action for the spring semester. The Dogs will open their 2011 competition with a scrimmage against Miami of Ohio on Saturday, January 29, at the Student Horse Center.
"We had some young riders on the trip and they got a lot of great experience," said Scrivani. "We rode well and learned a lot of valuable lessons today."
