Winter Hoops Fun Continues Saturday

FRESNO, Calif. - After securing back-to-back wins for the first time this season, the Fresno State men's basketball team will host North Dakota State (Dec. 18) and Pacific (Dec. 21) to complete their 2010 non-conference slate. Both games will tip off at 7 p.m.

About the North Dakota State Bison
The North Dakota State Bison (The Summit League) are 7-3 on the season, including a 68-60 win over UCSB and 97-92 overtime loss at Oregon. The Bison are led by three forwards (Michael Tveidt - 14.3 ppg, Eric Carlson - 12.0 ppg and Marshall Bjorklund - 10.4 ppg).

Fresno State holds a 2-0 record against North Dakota State, including a 64-58 win last year in Fresno and a 83-54 victory in 1983. The Dogs will also face NDSU in Fargo next season.
Teddy Bear Toss Benefits Foster Children
During the Dec. 18 game against NDSU, Fresno State is hosting a Teddy Bear Toss at halftime. All fans are asked to bring a teddy bear to toss on the court to benefit CASA of Fresno and Madera Counties, a local non-profit volunteer organization serving abused and neglected foster children in the child welfare and juvenile court system. Your donation of a teddy bear will bring joy to foster children in our community who need it most. Join us in helping CASA make the holidays brighter for foster children this year. As the sixth-most winningest men's basketball coach in program history, Steve Cleveland is one victory away from his 220th as a Division I head coach. Over 14 seasons at BYU and Fresno State, Cleveland sports 219 career wins and six postseason appearances.

The Pacific Tigers (Big West Conference) are 6-4 on the season and 1-3 in road games. The Tigers' Sam Willard leads the team with 16.7 points and 10.2 rebounds per game.

REVIEW: Dogs Beat USD & Pepperdine for Back-to-Back Wins
Fresno State is riding a two-game win streak after a 74-70 road victory over San Diego and 64-51 home win versus Pepperdine. In the win at USD, sophomore Greg Smith scored a season-high 20 points and pulled down eight rebounds. In the win against the Waves, junior Tim Steed recorded career-bests in both scoring (17 points) and rebounding (7).
Fresno State's Lasting Success One of West Coast's Best Over the 32-year period (1978-2010), the numbers show that Fresno State is one of the top Division I basketball programs on the West Coast. Fresno State ranks fourth among the 33 Division I programs in wins (575) and winning percentage (58%).
