Moses Named WAC Pitcher of the Week

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State's Michelle Moses has been named the Verizon Western Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week for May 3-9. This is the second honor of the season and career for Moses.
Moses, a sophomore from Paso Robles, Calif., went 1-0 last week with a 0.00 ERA in a complete-game shutout vs. Louisiana Tech. She set a Fresno State seven-inning record 18 strikeouts, as she fanned the first 13 batters of the game, breaking the school record for consecutive strikeouts. Moses' perfect game was broken up with a one-out single in the fifth inning, one of two hits in the game for LA Tech. Entering the 2010 season, there were only 23 other performances of 18 strikeouts or more in NCAA history.
Moses also earned WAC Pitcher of the Week honors on March 23 for her performance at the Judi Garman Classic in Fullerton, Calif.
Boise State's Holly Bourke was named this week's WAC Hitter of the Week.
Other Hitter of the Week nominees included: Fresno State's Courtney Moore and New Mexico State's Tiare Jennings.
Other Pitcher of the Week nominees included: Boise State's Aubray Zell and Carissa Theis of New Mexico State.
