`Dogs Will Play Tonight at 6 p.m. PST

LAS CRUCES, N.M. - The Fresno State softball team fell to Hawai'i in the semifinals of the Western Athletic Conference Tournament 16-1 in five innings Friday afternoon. The `Dogs are now 37-18 on the year.
Fresno State will face the winner of the next game (BSU/SJSU) at 6 p.m. PST in an elimination game with the winner to the championship tomorrow at 1 p.m. PST vs. Hawai'i.Fans can listen to the game live on 1430 ESPN Radio with Guy Haberman calling the action. Tonight's game will not be on television.
The `Dogs had three hits in the game against Stephanie Ricketts, the first was a single to center by Becca Walker in the second inning.
Hawai'i exploded for 14 runs in the third inning. A three-run home run by Jessica Iwata put Hawai'i up 4-0. A grand slam by Kelly Majam put Hawai'i up 11-0.
Hawai'i scored two more runs in the fifth inning.
The second hit of the game for the `Dogs was a single to left by Haley Gilleland to lead off the fifth. A single by Michelle Moses drove in Gilleland for the only run of the game for Fresno State.
Morgan Melloh got the loss for the `Dogs and falls to 17-10. She allowed seven runs, six earned, on nine hits with four strikeouts in 4.1 innings. Mackenzie Oakes picked 0.2 innings for the `Dogs and allowed nine runs, six earned, on eight hits.
Ricketts got the win and improves to 24-6. She allowed one run on three hits with one strikeout.
