FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State lacrosse team continues to excel in the classroom as the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association named the Fresno State team to the Academic Squad for the second straight season.
The Bulldogs are one of 51 institutions who received the honor as programs were named to the squad by having a team GPA over 3.0 for the season.
This isn't the first academic honor for the Bulldogs as seven student-athletes were named to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Academic All-Conference team and the team had a perfect 1,000 APR for the past year. Jennifer Rose, Kasandra Martinson, Michelle Rose, Jennifer Smith, Heather Jack, Krisdina Gehring and Amira Ferrell earned the MPSF academic honors.
"I am so proud of our student athletes," Fresno State coach Sue Behme said. "They worked hard to achieve this honor for the second straight year. I am so grateful to my assistants, coach Buck and coach Gotham, they have been crucial to the development of our ladies both off the field and on the field. Additionally, Natalie Nakic our lacrosse student athlete advisor has done a great job as well. I appreciate all of the hard of these great ladies and staff."
