Cross Country Wraps Up Asics Invitational At UC Irvine

IRVINE, Calif. - The Fresno State women's cross country team finished seventh at the Asics Invitational, while the men's team finished eighth at the invitational hosted by UC Irvine in Irvine, Calif.
The women's team ended with a score of 175, finishing seventh among 10 other schools in the 5k race. The men's team had a score of 188, finishing eighth among 19 other schools in the 8k race.
Pamela Cruz led the way for the women's team, finishing 27th with a time of 18:34.6. Marrijtje Molenhuis finished 32nd with a time of 18:43.2 and Kristen Galvez finished 39th with a time of 18:55.6.
Eric Battles came in 17th place with a time of 25:36.0 to lead the men's team. Danny Vartanian finished 20th with a time of 25:38.8 and Carson Keller finished 46th with a time of 26:26.2.
Up next, both the men's and women's teams will head to Bakersfield on September 18 to compete in the Roadrunner Invitational.
