Cross Country Teams Back In Action At Stanford Invitational

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State men's and women's cross country teams hit the road for the fourth straight week, traveling to the Stanford Invitational on Saturday, September 25 in Stanford, Calif.

Stanford Invitational
The Bulldogs will race in their third combined event, after the women's cross country team had a dual meet with Cal State Bakersfield last week and the men had the week off. Fresno State opened the season in Reno, Nev., followed by Irvine, Calif. and last week in Bakersfield. The Stanford Invitational will be one of the largest fields of the season for the Bulldogs. Fresno State did not compete in the 2009 Invitational, but last competed in 2008.
Recap Of Dual Meet
The women's cross country team dropped a dual meet against Cal State Bakersfield, 18-41, last weekend in Bakersfield. Stevie Brumwell led the way for the Bulldogs, finishing fourth overall in a time of 19:07 on the 5k course. Taylor Votaw placed sixth in a time of 19:16, Kelsey Smith finished eighth in 19:28 and Julianne Warmerdam finished 11th in 20:01.

The Fresno State men's and women's cross country teams head to the Notre Dame Invitational on Friday, October 1 in South Bend, Ind. It will be the fourth road invitational of the season for the Bulldogs.
