FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State women's soccer team had their best offensive game of the year scoring three goals, two of which came in the first 10 minutes of the match. The Bulldogs won 3-2 over Florida Atlantic University. The `Dogs are 4-2 this season and have won four-consecutive games.

The Bulldogs took the lead in the ninth minute after sophomore Vanessa Gonzalez scored her first goal in 2010. Molly Nizzoli and Katie Lee both earned a point for the assist.

Not even a minute later the `Dogs added another goal. Junior Laura Dodd scored her second goal of the season giving the Bulldogs the lead 2-0. Senior Claudia Cardenas recorded the assists, her first of the year.

Senior Kaitlyn Revel recorded two saves in the first half. After the first 45 minutes, Fresno State had 10 shots and 2-0 lead over FAU.

Two minutes into the second half junior Molly Nizzoli scored the third goal of the game. She recorded three points in the match with the goal and assist. The three goals are a season-high in goals scored in a single match for the Bulldogs.

Revel finished the game with two saves and no goals against. Fellow goalkeeper Chrissy Smith entered the game and recorded a save.

The Owls got on the board in the 55th minute after Allyson Buerosse scored and FAU trailed 3-1.

FAU's Brittney Nash scored in the 74th minute bringing the Owls within one of the Bulldogs.

Fresno State finished the game with the 3-2 win and 14 shots.

The Bulldogs return to Bulldog Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 12 at 12 p.m. when they host UC Davis. Admission to all home soccer game is free.
