"I am happy with the way they dove," head diving coach Taryn Patrick said of the Dogs' effort. "I think they did the best they could do. This was important to get another Invite of experience before the WAC Championships."
In the preliminary six dives, Luke recorded a score of 222.00 for 16th position. Hannah Prigge (19th, 216.15) and Kendra Weeks (24th, 205.80) rounded out the Top 24 of the 36 diver event.
The top 18 qualified for the semifinals, where Luke finished 18th after tallying 193.80 in the second session.
"We know what we have to work on and I think we will do better tomorrow," Patrick added.
Fresno State will compete in the 1-meter diving event on Saturday and wrap the three-day event with platform dives on Sunday.
The WAC Championships will take place Feb. 21-26 in San Antonio, Texas.
