"We were able to move our ladies around into events that they don't usually swim in," said head coach Jeanne Fleck. "I was very happy. There was some really good swimming today."
Senior Stephanie Hatayama showed her leadership in the pool today by achieving two wins against CSU East Bay. She placed first in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:01.13 and first in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 24.97.
"Stephanie Hatayama had some really great times," said Fleck. "I was very happy with everyone today."
Sophomore Britney Vogel won the 1000 yard freestyle event today with a time of 10:47.79.
"Britney usually swims the breast stroke and she did very well in the freestyle event today," Fleck stated. "She came right off the relay and then had to swim the 1000 so that was a pretty hard double but she did a great job."
Other Dogs who won events today were Brooke Fuller (100 yard backstroke), Michelle Dockendorf (200 yard butterfly), Alexis Melnikov (100 yard freestyle), Jordan Morillo (200 yard backstroke), Sarah Pino (200 yard breaststroke), and Dede Torres (200 yard IM). The Dogs also won all of their relay events.
