FRESNO, Calif. - A rare exhibition match-up between Fresno State and Fresno City College will take place on the volleyball court at the Save Mart Center on Thursday night at 6 p.m.
"Due to the fact that we've had a tough, road-heavy schedule, and we have extra dates available to play, I'm happy to get another match in at the Save Mart Center this Thursday," Fresno state head volleyball coach Lauren Netherby-Sewell said.
Admission to the contest is free for all fans.
"It'll be a fun local match and we're excited to host Fresno City College," Netherby-Sewell said. "The contest will give us extra match experience our young team needs as we prepare for a stronger round-two of WAC play."
The exhibition against the Rams is one of three competitions this week for the 'Dogs, who visit CSU Bakersfield on Wednesday night at 6 p.m. and host Western Athletic Conference rival Nevada on Saturday night at 7 p.m. for Breast Cancer Awareness Night.
Fresno State (8-11, 3-4 WAC) currently sits in fifth place in the WAC standings at the midway mark in league play. The top six schools in the final conference standings compete in Las Vegas at the 2011 WAC Tournament from Nov. 21-23 for an automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament.
