
`Dogs Take Second in the Desert

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State women's team wrapped up the Desert Cowgirl Intercollegiate in Palm Desert, Calif. by placing second out of 15 teams, tying their best finish of the year.
The Bulldogs finished at 40-over (295-297-312--904), 16 shots behind first place San Diego State. The `Dogs have placed second in consecutive tournaments.Freshman Madchen Ly led the `Dogs with a fourth place performance, carding a 4-over 76 to end at 7-over. This was Ly's second top five finish of the young season.
Louisa Lies placed fifth at 9-over (70-76-79--225), her second top ten performance of the year.
Sophomore Krysta Clark shot a final round 77 to tie for 17th at 15-over (81-73-77--231), her best finish of the season. Hillary Billingsley (77-75-80--232) and Shaylee Yano (74-83-80--237) tied for 19th and 27th, respectively.
Christine Wong captured the individual title with even-par after firing a final round 3-under, 69.
The Bulldogs return to action Oct. 24-26 at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown in Boulder City, Nev.
