FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State women's lacrosse team scored a season-high six goals Saturday but fell to Jacksonville 19-6 in Eugene, Ore.
Freshman midfielder Briana Hetherington led the Bulldogs with three goals and one assist, while freshman Kara Concheck, sophomore Amanda Cross and sophomore Taylor Fiehler added one goal apiece. Sophomore Natalie Harrington also had an assist.
Fresno State (0-4) forced 16 turnovers but was unable to keep the Dolphins at bay. Ten players scored for Jacksonville, including sophomore Amanda Hurley, who tied a career high with five goals. Abigail Warnken and Ellyn Spangenberg tallied hat tricks for the Dolphins (3-1). Jacksonville led 13-1 at halftime.
The Bulldogs, who scored five goals in the second half, now turn their attention toward their March 7 home-opener against Bryant. Fresno State enters that game still looking for its first win in program history.
