FULLERTON, Calif. - The Bulldogs' bats erupted in an explosive fourth inning rally to blaze by No. 5/6 Michigan 3-1 in their Judi Garman Classic finale on Saturday morning.

After Michigan scored an unearned run in the first inning, Fresno State's first baseman Michelle Moses started the fireworks with a solo home run in the fourth to mark No. 37 in her career and become the second-leading career home run hitter in Bulldog history.

The marquee victory is the latest of three victories over Top 20 opponents this season as Fresno State defeated then-No. 8 Missouri 6-3 and then-No. 19 Oklahoma State 4-3 earlier this year. The Bulldogs are now 3-3 against teams in the Top 20 nationally.

Junior Mackenzie Oakes (10-2) tossed a gem and contained a potent Wolverine offense to register her second win in as many days against a Big Ten opponent. The Dogs improved to 8-0 this season when Oakes starts in the circle.

"It was huge for our team," Oakes said of beating the Top 5 opponent. "It gets us back on a roll as we get closer to conference play. The team played great today."

The contest marked the end of non-conference tournament action and Fresno State (16-8) will host a doubleheader against UC Santa Barbara on Tuesday night at 6 p.m. before entering WAC play next weekend during a road trip to Louisiana Tech.
