Dogs Host Bryant in Home Opener

Records: Fresno State (0-4) lost to Jacksonville 19-6. Bryant (0-3) lost to Siena 15-10.
Home Sweet Home
After opening the season with a strenuous four-game road trip, Fresno State is finally home. The Bulldogs will play their 2011 home-opener Monday when they host Bryant at 4 p.m. in a nonconference game. The first 100 fans through the gate will get a free Fresno State lacrosse season T-shirt, and there will be an autograph session following the game. Fresno State heads to Bulldog Stadium still searching for its first win in the three-year history of the program.
Scouting The Bryant Bulldogs
Like Fresno State, Bryant is still playing for its first win of the season. The Bulldogs are coming off a 15-10 loss to Siena College in which included hat tricks from rookies Katherine Keckeisen and Haley Bloom. Despite a five-goal deficit at the halftime break, the Bulldogs would outscore the Saints, 5-1, over a stretch of 7:37 in the middle of the final frame to cut the visitors lead to just two, 12-10, with 9:53 to play.

This game marks the first time Fresno State has faced Bryant.
Last Time Out
Despite a three-goal effort by freshman midfielder Briana Hetherington, Fresno State was unable to knock off Jacksonville, falling 19-6 in Eugene, Ore. Kara Concheck, Amanda Cross and Taylor Fiehler also scored for the Bulldogs. Jacksonville outscored Fresno State 13-1 in the first half. The Bulldogs' six goals were a season high.
A Look Back At Year 2
The Bulldogs experienced undeniable growth during the 2010 season. Indeed, Fresno State improved in many statistical categories from its first season in 2009. Krisdina Gehring became the first Fresno State lacrosse player to earn all conference honors as she earned second-team All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation as a defender last season. Gehring was second in the conference in caused turnovers a game at 1.93. She had 27 total caused turnovers which was a team-best.
