"I am extremely proud of our team," said head coach Simon Thibodeau. "They fought so hard and deserve this WAC Championship. Winning it with such young players says a lot for the future of this team."
The Bulldogs started strong by winning the doubles point. On court one first team All-WAC doubles duo, Laura Pola and Marianne Jodoin turned away the Broncos' Lauren Megale/Marlena Pietzuch, 8-1. Pola won a nail-biting, three-set battle with Sonia Klamczynska, 7-5, 6-7 (8-10), 7-5, to give the Bulldogs their WAC Championship and automatic bid for the NCAA Tournament.
"Laura Pola was once again amazing in the deciding match," said Thibodeau. "Boise State fought hard and also deserves credit."
