Dogs Honor Seniors on Sunday

Dogs Celebrate "Senior Day" on Sunday
Fresno State will honor its senior class prior to Sunday afternoon's Mountain Pacific Sports Federation clash against Cal. Amira Ferrell, Krisdina Gehring, Heather Jack, Kasandra Martinson and Jennifer Smith have been with the Bulldogs since the women's lacrosse program's inception in 2009. All five have made been instrumental to its continued development.
Dogs Prepare For Final Homestand
Fresno State will host its final home games of the season, starting with Sunday's matchup against Cal. The Bulldogs, which are 0-3 at home this season, will play their last home game Monday against Denver.
A Glimpse at the MPSF Tournament
Only the top four teams in the final regular-season MPSF standings qualify for the conference tournament, which begins April 28 in Moraga, Calif. Based on the current standings, Fresno State would not be eligible. Stanford leads the seven-team MPSF at 3-0, Oregon and Denver (both 1-0) are tied at No. 2, and Cal and UC Davis follow at 2-1. Saint Mary's College is 1-4, and 0-4 Fresno State is last.
Scouting The Golden Bears
Cal is in the hunt for a spot in the MPSF tournament and takes on second-place Oregon before traveling to Fresno. The Golden Bears are looking to shake off last week's 19-11 loss to rival Stanford. Freshman Amelia Burke finished with a career-high four goals in the setback, which snapped Cal's three-game winning streak.
The Series vs. Cal
Fresno State is 0-2 against Cal. The Bulldogs have yet to score against the Bears and have given up 35 goals in two games. Fresno State fell to Cal 16-0 last season in Berkeley.
Last Time Out
Fresno State suffered its 10th consecutive loss with a 22-6 setback at High Point on March 27. Sophomore Amanda Cross paced Fresno State with two goals, while Briana Hetherington, Taylor Fiehler, Lauren Natale and Paula Badali also found the back of the net.
Consistent Cross
Sophomore attacker Amanda Cross, last season's leading scorer, has picked up right where she left off. Through 10 games, she has already equaled last seaon's 20-goal total and will look to surpass the mark Sunday against Cal. Cross has has now scored at least one goal in the past seven games. Cross currently leads the team with 22 points.
"We Are Your Team!" -- The Fresno State women's lacrosse team will celebrate "Senior Day" during its conference matchup with Cal on Sunday. The fun starts at 1:30 p.m., admission is free and those who arrive first get FREE Fresno State Centennial Ice Cream.
