Lacrosse Nets 13 All-Academic Selections

FRESNO, Calif. - Thirteen Fresno State lacrosse players were recognized by the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) this summer as 2011 All-Academic selections for their outstanding achievements in the classroom.
Senior Jennifer Smith (Pleasanton, Calif.) was the only MPSF lacrosse player on the list to obtain a 4.0 cumulative grade point average surpassing players from Stanford, Cal Berkeley, and University of Oregon.
Smith along with four other seniors and eight sophomores were recognized for the award based on specific criteria.
To qualify for the distinction the student-athletes needed to achieve a 3.0 or better cumulative GPA, be at least a sophomore academically, completed one full academic year at the institution prior to the season, and competed in 50 percent of the institution's competitions.
