2011-12 Men's Hoops Schedule Released

FRESNO, Calif. - The Rodney Terry era of the Fresno State men's basketball program will tip off with five Pacific-12 opponents, an appearance in the Preseason NIT, two contests against the Mountain West's Boise State and 14 regular season home games in the Save Mart Center.
"As we are building our program, it is important for us to be competing against different styles and systems and gain exposure whenever possible," Terry said. "We are thrilled to host schools like the University of Utah, which has a tremendous amount of tradition, and we want to be ready to compete for a championship. It's going to take hard work in the gym and the chance to connect with our community. We want to put on a good show on a nightly basis that entertains our fans and eventually refills the Save Mart Center."
Over the past 33 years, Fresno State ranks fourth in wins (587) among all Division 1 institutions on the West Coast, which includes the states of California, Oregon and Washington.
The Bulldogs start the regular season at home, where they have an 88-45 record over the past eight seasons, on Nov. 11 against Illinois State before heading on the road for the next six games, including a trip to Stanford's Maples Pavilion for the NIT Season Tip Off (Nov. 14-16) and a Nov. 26 visit to North Dakota State.
December features the other four games against Pac-12 teams and starts when the `Dogs host the University of Utah on Dec. 3 at 7 p.m.
Fresno State will travel most of the rest of the month of December while facing Colorado (Dec. 7), Oregon (Dec. 10), Boise State (Dec. 19), Arizona State (Dec. 21) and Pacific (Dec. 29) on the road.
They close their early non-conference slate at home in another date with the MW's Broncos on Jan. 2.
The `Dogs then visit Utah State to begin Western Athletic Conference play for the last time before joining the Mountain West Conference in July 2012.
The first chance to see the team in action at the Save Mart Center is Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. during Fresno State's annual free Red and White Hoops Night. The Bulldogs will also host Fresno Pacific for an exhibition game on Nov. 4 at 7 p.m. prior to the start of the season.
