"We had a good contest tonight. We were playing an older, experienced team. We knew their guys were going to come in here and compete and our team knew that were going to have to be ready to match them in terms of their energy level."
ON A BETTER SECOND HALF:
"In the second half we came out hard I think our guys did a much better job in terms of attention to detail. We had a better game offensively. Defensively we got after it a little better. I was pleased with our sharing of the basketball we had four guys with double figures."
ON THE AGGRESSION LEVEL:
"They (CS San Marcos) are used to playing at a Division I level. They played BYU and BYU couldn't break away from them until the last seven minutes of the game. So they compete at a very high level .They came into the building tonight and really wanted to compete at our level. They were stepping their level of competition up and anytime you have that with their guys, as well as our guys, there's a chance you can get a little aggression. I talked to my guys about just playing the game. Play the game and don't get caught up in all of the talking."
ON PREPARING THE TEAM FOR THE ROAD GAMES:
"It was a great game for us and in terms of playing against older athletic guys I thought it was a great time for us to see some personnel like that. We didn't really face that tough of personnel on Saturday (SJSU). It was a great challenge for us defensively much like we will see this Saturday (Nevada)."
ON Jerry Brown III:
"Jerry has really competed and really bought into his role with our team. As we've gone along his role has expanded. He's scoring more for us offensively. He's the guy that gives a defensive presence down there. He's the guy that takes charges. He's a guy that brings a lot of energy to the full force. He's a great guy. He's done a lot for us this year."

"We feel confident. We've been playing hard all year long. We know that we're up against Nevada next, who is supposed to be favored for our league. We're going to go up there and try to get a win. We're going to work hard and do everything that coach tells us to do and if we can do that I think we'll get a win."

"We feel we need to win every game. Our next game is Nevada and we take it one game at a time. Obviously you need to win the road to win a conference, but we are confident that if we play our game the way we know how we are going to win night in and night out."
