LARAMIE, Wyo. ---The Fresno State soccer team secured its first Mountain West road victory today with a 2-0 victory over Wyoming in Laramie. Junior Morgan Castain recorded both goals for the 'Dogs for her fourth and fifth goals on the season.
The Bulldogs took the lead in the 36th minute, when Kayla Kret and Callie Hancock found Castain open 30 yards out from the goal who then lofted the ball into the upper left corner and past the goalkeeper for what would be the game winner.
After halftime, Castain put the 'Dogs up 2-0 after getting a rebound off the keeper and putting the ball in the upper left corner for her fifth goal of the season. Wyoming recorded 10 more shots than Fresno State, but sophomore goalkeeper Katie
DeVault made nine crucial saves and recorded her second shutout of the year and the teams' third.
Fresno State is now 2-0 in Mountain West play. The Bulldogs will return to Mountain West action next weekend in Bulldog Stadium as they will face New Mexico on Friday and San Diego State on Sunday.
