LOS ANGELES -- The Fresno State divers finished the UCLA Diving Invitational on Sunday afternoon with perhaps their strongest group performance of the weekend in the Platform dive.
Senior Hannah Prigge, who finished eighth in the 1-Meter on Friday and third on Saturday in the 3-Meter, scored a 275.75 in the preliminary round to put her in second place. She had to scratch out of the finals due to a previous injury, but a top three finish was almost a sure thing. Prigge's score was more 39.45 points clear of the fourth place total going to the final round.
Lacie Ruth finished 15th with a score of 193.95. The sophomore from Visalia improved her place in each dive all weekend. Freshman Noelle Farrer finished 24th out of 38 divers thanks to her 160.95. Both scores for Ruth and Farrer were their lifetime best scores.
USC's Haley Ishimatsu scored a 650.45 to win the Platform competition. The junior is the defending NCAA and Pac-12 Platform diving champion. She won all three diving events on the weekend.
