Johnson Produced as One of the Best in the MW
Bulldogs' senior guard Tyler Johnson has steadily improved during his four-year Fresno State career - increasing his scoring average from 4.4 (freshman) to 9.3 (sophomore) to 12.1 (junior) and now 16.5 as a senior. Johnson has scored at least 20 points eleven times his career, with nine of those coming this season in Mountain West play.
Fresno State to Face Defending Champion Lobos in Quarterfinals
After a thrilling come-from-behind win over Air Force, the Fresno State men's basketball team (17-15) will face defending Mountain West Tournament champion on Thursday at 6 p.m. in the MW Quarterfinals. PREVIEW - Fresno State vs. New Mexico
• Fresno State and New Mexico are in meeting a conference tournament game for the first since 1993 and just the third time ever
• With a win over the Lobos, Fresno State would secure its 18th win in a season for the 20th time in school history.
• Fresno State is looking to snap a four-game losing streak to the Lobos with the Bulldogs last defeating UNM 86-80 in Fresno in 1999.
• Fresno State last defeated a Top 25 team on Feb. 10, 2002 when the Bulldogs beat then-No. 14 Oklahoma State 58-52 at Selland Arena in Fresno.
'Dogs Rally for Thrilling Win in MW Tourney Opener
Facing a 15-point deficit with less than six minutes to play, Johnson and the Bulldogs' other senior guard Allen Huddleston led the Fresno State men's basketball team to a thrilling 61-59 victory over Air Force to open the Mountain West Basketball Championships at the Thomas & Mack Center.
• The 15-point comeback was the Bulldogs' largest this season.
• With 19 points and 12 rebounds, Fresno State's Tyler Johnson registered his eighth double-double of the season.
• The win was the 'Dogs first conference tournament game win since 2009.
