Fresno State Opens CBI Finals at Home vs. Siena
The Fresno State men's basketball team (20-16) will host Siena (19-17) on Monday night at 7 p.m. PT in game one of the College Basketball Invitational Championship Series. All CBI Finals games will be broadcast live on CBS Sports Network, 940 AM ESPN Radio and www.GoBulldogs.com. The best-of-three series will be March 31, April 2 and April 5 (if necessary).
About the Siena Saints
The Siena Saints are 18-17 on the season and went 11-9 Metro Atlantic conference play. Siena is led by Rob Poole, who averages 14.7 points per game. This is the first-ever meeting between Fresno State and Siena.
Johnson Produced as One of the Best in the MW
Bulldogs' senior guard Tyler Johnson has steadily improved during his four-year Fresno State career - increasing his scoring average from 4.4 (freshman) to 9.3 (sophomore) to 12.1 (junior) and now 15.8 as a senior. Johnson has scored at least 20 points 12 times his career.
'Dogs Defend Home Court in 2013-14
Since Rodney Terry's first season at Fresno State, fan support has steadily grown. With 18 home games so far this season, Fresno State has gone 13-5 at the Save Mart Center - the most home wins during Terry's tenure. In 2013-14, Fresno State has welcomed 123,453 fans to the SMC. For its home opener vs. CSU Northridge (14,770) and home finale vs. then-No. 10 San Diego State (14,801), Fresno State recorded two of its top five all-time attendance marks for a home game. Those contests also marked the 26th and 27th, respectively, games of over 12,000 at the Save Mart Center.
