Harris, Guerrero Earn Preseason Media Recognition

FRESNO, Calif. - With fall practice set to officially start on Friday, Fresno State senior guards Marvelle Harris and Cezar Guerrero earned preseason recognition from Athlon and Lindy's magazines in previews of the 2015-16 season.
Harris, the Mountain West's only returning first-team all-conference honoree, was a consensus All-Mountain West first-team selection, while Guerrero was placed on each magazine's All-Mountain West third-team. The Bulldogs' men's basketball team was picked to finish fifth by both publications.
The Mountain West's official preseason poll and individual awards as determined by league media will be released at the conference's media days in Las Vegas on Oct. 13.
Fresno State has also received national preseason media attention from CBS Sports as Jon Rothstein included the Bulldogs on a list of five teams to watch this season.
"Veteran guards win in college basketball and that's just what the Bulldogs possess," Rothstein said. "Harris is a legitimate Mountain West Player of the Year candidate and can get his own shot whenever he desires."

The Bulldogs open the 2015-16 season on Nov. 13 versus Pepperdine for the first of 18 regular season home games at the Save Mart Center.
